Happy April Fool’s Day 2023: Come April 1, and the world gets filled with pranksters who are ready to play pranks on one another and pull off practical jokes. All because it’s April Fool’s Day. Historically, the day came to being after Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar in 1952, and suggested that the new calendar would start from January 1. Prior to this, the New Year used to be celebrated in the end of March. The shift in calendar from Julian to Gregorian was initiated on April 1, making it the most commonly believed reason for commemorating the day. Reportedly, while many refused to accept the change and continued following the Julian calendar, France was the first country to accept and implement the new calendar. Hence, the legend goes that the ones who did not follow the new calendar were considered foolish and are made fun of by those who did. The day is filled with jokes and laughter. It is that one day in the year when people can get away with almost anything, for everything is taken in the spirit of jest. However, going overboard with pranks and jokes certainly isn't advisable. 📣 For more lifestyle news, follow us on Instagram | Twitter | Facebook and don't miss out on the latest updates!
