Beauty pageant participants are often asked tricky questions to gauge their intelligence, confidence, and ability to handle pressure. These questions test their quick thinking, communication skills, and presence of mind, allowing judges to assess their overall poise and suitability for the title. Something similar was seen when actor Gauahar Khan participated in the Femina Miss India Contest way back in 2002. While the 39-year-old has come a long way since here's a lookback at the time when she was on the receiving end of a puzzling question by actor Akshay Kumar during the contest. In a video going viral on social media, Akshay can be seen asking Gauahar, "There's a saying 'Behind every successful man, there is a woman'. Who is behind his failure?" As the audience cheered at the question, Gauahar maintained her calm and composure before replying, "It is a very true saying that behind every successful man, there is a woman." "But, I firmly believe that every single individual is responsible for his own failures because it is one's choice to go to the right or opt for wrong. While she couldn't win the pageant and came fourth, she bagged the 'Miss Talented' title. Later that year, she represented India in the Miss International contest. The video also caught the attention of her husband, Zaid Darbar, who took to social media to shower praises on Gauahar. "Wah! On the spot jawab! Aur yahan mai caption dhang se likh nahi pata (And I can't even write the captions properly," he wrote. Reposting his story, Gauahar wrote, "Hehehehehe Jaanu." The couple, who tied the knot in December 2020, welcomed a baby boy on May 10 this year. The actor has never been the one to shy away from expressing her thoughts firmly. During her pregnancy, she shared an inspiring note on Instagram which read: “There’s soooooo much judgment around pregnant women, their weight, their moods, their walk…just a shout out to all the expecting moms, Your walk is your own, it’s pretty no matter what.
