Two more Pune schools closed after detection of Swine flu

Two schools were closed for a week after one student in each was found infected with swine flu virus.

Two schools were closed for a week after one student in each was found infected with swine flu virus,taking the total number of affected schools to three in the city.

The two new schools that were advised closure as a preventive measure are ‘Sevasadan’ and ‘Symbiosis’ which had one case each testing positive for the virus,according to R R Pardeshi,civic medical officer.

He said the fresh cases have been “home quarantined” and family of the children advised to remain indoors for eight days as a precautionary measure.

Abhinav school was closed earlier this week in the wake of Swine flu spreading to as many as 19 students from various classes.

Health authorities said though the number of swine flu cases in Pune has risen to 33,many patients are being discharged from hospitals after complete cure following effective treatment.
