Shehnaaz Gill’s participation in reality show Big Boss season 13 has made her a popular figure on social media. The model-turned-actor walked us through her weight loss journey during lockdown and what she eats in a day. In conversation with Shilpa Shetty Kundra on Mirchi Plus, Gill shared that during the Covid-19 lockdown, she decided to shed off 55 kilos in about 6 months and present a transformed version of herself to her audience.

To start off her day, she drinks a cup of tea and turmeric water along with apple cider vinegar. For breakfast, she eats moong, dosa, or methi parathas. She makes sure her breakfast is high in protein and portion sizes are controlled.

In another interview with Times Foodie, she shared her poha recipe which is an everyday staple when it comes to having breakfast. In a pan, she adds cumin and mustard seeds to heated oil, and sautés vegetables such as sliced bell peppers, broccoli and carrots before adding in a handful of poha. “Main vegetables zyada rakhti hoon aur poha kam,” revealed the Big Boss contestant. She also pairs a bowl of granola and curd with it.

Her lunch meal plan includes a bowl of dal, sprout salad, and tofu scramble, along with a roti smeared in desi ghee. The plate includes all elements that offer protein, carbs, and fibre.

For her evening snack, Gill shared that she likes to heat up some ghee in a wok and toss in some makhana or fox nuts for a simple low-calorie fix. This is the snack she carries to outdoor shoots or to Mumbai. Dinner consists of a plate of khichdi along with a bowl of curd and dhoodhi ka soup, which provides the right nutrients, vitamins and minerals for a healthy meal.
