And it seems like each one of us, actor Kriti Sanon too enjoys exploring food items. Being a true foodie at heart, the celebrity took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of her indulgent dessert experience in Pune when she visited the city. In a photo she shared, a plate consisting of a bowl of delicious aamras and pooris, with a bowl of raita visible in the backdrop. She captioned the story, "When in Pune #AamrasPoori," accompanied by a heart. Chef Gaurav Herwadkar, executive sous chef, Conrad Pune said that aamras is a sweet dish made from the pulp of the mango fruit. The pulp of a ripe mango is extracted, usually by hand, and is consumed together with pooris or chapati (Indian breads). "Sometimes ghee and milk are added to the pulp to enhance its flavour. Sugar is also added to adjust the sweetness. It is often had at celebrations and weddings with cardamom and chopped nuts. A regional version of aamras is a popular dessert in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, especially during festivities," he said. Explaining the benefits of the dish, he said, "Mango was first grown in the Indian subcontinent. Later on, other countries also started cultivating mango plants. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and it has been associated with many health benefits including potential anticancer effects, as well improved immunity, and digestive and eye health. Best of all, it's tasty and easy to add to your diet as part of smoothies and many other dishes." Recipe of aamras poori Ingredients *4 large mangoes *2 tablespoon of powdered sugar *1 cup of wheat flour *1 1/2 ml of refined oil *1 cup of milk *20 strands of saffron *Water as required *2 dashes of salt Method *Wash and clean the mangoes (alphonso) under cold running water. *Wipe them with a clean cloth and then peel and chop them. *Blend mango pulp with powdered sugar and milk. *Now, take a blender jar and pour the mango pulp in it. Add powdered sugar and saffron strands in the blender jar and blend the mangoes to a smooth pulp. To thin down the aamras, add milk. However, make sure that the aamras doesn't get too thin. *Refrigerate the aamras for 15 minutes. *Pour the scrumptious aamras in small bowls and place them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. It is best enjoyed when it is chilled. *Garnish with saffron strands. *In a dough kneading plate, add wheat flour with 2 pinches of salt in it. Mix well and add water in it. Knead a stiff dough for poori. *Fry the pooris. *Roll out the pooris and put a kadhai over medium flame.
