The tickets for the 2-hour event on October 24 have already sold out, leading the City Winery to add a second date – October 25 – to pacify fans.
Harry Potter fans can’t have enough of the Wizarding World. Though it may be rather difficult for the muggles to recreate their spells, there have been many ways that enterprising fans have tried to bring alive the fantastic and magical food and beverages that have been mentioned in the JK Rowling book series. Though, getting to them may not be as easy as shouting “accio butterbeer!”
Hinging on this ever-crazy and increasing demand, a winery in Chicago, US, is set to host a four-course Harry Potter wine pairing dinner. We know, it is hard to resist!
Announcing the exciting event that’s scheduled for late October, City Winery, well-versed in Potterverse, ‘sent an owl, saying’: “Attention Muggle Wine-Lover’s. Hop aboard the Hogwarts Express as it takes you to City Winery Chicago for…”Expecto! A Harry Potter Wine Dinner”, adding: “With a dash of mystery and a dollop of creativity, we will conjure up a prixe-fixe meal that not even “Obliviate” will make you forget.”
The dinner will set fans back by $85, and the menu includes a four-course meal referencing each of Hogwarts’ houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
The tickets for the 2-hour event on October 24 have already sold out, leading the City Winery to add a second date – October 25 – to pacify fans. Tickets for the second event are on sale from September 27 for the winery’s members, and September 29 to the general public. Despite the addition, given Harry Potter’s popularity, there will definitely be many who will miss out on the event… but maybe there shall be another? Who knows!
We are not sure if Mrs Weasley will be cooking, but we’re definitely intrigued about the menu — Will there be chocolate frogs for dessert?
