6 ways: How to feel spiritual sans fasting during Navratri

While some of you have fasting on your mind for the next nine days, others may only be thinking about food, garba, dandiya and some real fun.

Navratri marks the beginning of the festival season. While some of you have fasting on your mind for the next nine days, others may only be thinking about food, garba, dandiya and some real fun. What if you want to have fun with a dash of spirituality during the period. Well, here’re the tips:

1. Read and share some fascinating stories on the origin and history of Navratri: This will not only add to your knowledge but also connect you to your roots. Besides, it can be a good conversation starter.

2. Wear a religious pendant: There are a lot of options available in the market – Om pendants, ganesh pendants, durga pendants. Take your pick and flaunt it with elan.

3. Apply tilak on your forehead: I’m particularly fascinated with the bright roli tilak on my forehead during Navratri.

4. Practice silence: Fasting helps in de-toxification and helps you feel good about your body. Practicing silence calms down your mind, and helps you feel good about your mind. Shall we call it Mind fasting?

5. Meditation: Ten minutes of morning meditation keeps your stress levels down and spiritual quotient high.

6. Make a playlist of all your favourite bhajan legends (Gulshan Kumar, Anuradha Paudwal, Anup Jalota, Jagjit Singh), invite your friends over and have your own bhakti session at home.
