Zeenat Aman’s approach to travel has changed now: ‘Lazy breakfasts, catching up on my reading…’

"I used to be the sort of traveller who packed their itinerary with “must sees", “must visits” and “must dos”. It was a great strategy in my youth, and allowed me to explore the world with my sons!" recalled Zeenat Aman

Yesteryear actor Zeenat Aman has been bowling everyone over with her interesting and candid anecdotes from her life, including films, family, love, books, and her passion for travel, which she regularly shares on Instagram. As such, we couldn’t stop ourselves from re-reading one of her recent capsules on how her approach to travel has changed over the years.

“An easy breezy afternoon in Goa with good food, a glass of wine and my family,” said Zeenat, 71, in the caption to the post which featured her in an off-shoulder printed dress, giving us full beach vibes.

“I used to be the sort of traveller who packed their itinerary with ‘must sees’, ‘must visits’ and ‘must dos’. It was a great strategy in my youth, and allowed me to explore the world with my sons! Now I am much more relaxed in my approach to travel,” Zeenat mentioned.

“Lazy breakfasts, catching up on my reading, playing board games, getting a massage, stepping out for a meal, watching a good show… these take priority over any chaotic bucket list,” shared Zeenat.

She even penned down a travel anecdote from “those hectic sightseeing days”. “Italy, 2005. The boys and I were spending a few days in Rome before joining a cruise. Having seen the Colosseum, we were now seated in a lovely cafe in one of the city’s beautiful piazzas. At the corner of the square, an Italian busker was playing the accordion. As I spooned gelato into my mouth, I heard the unmistakable notes of Yaadon ki Baaraat!” recollected Zeenat, referring to her 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baaraat which featured a namesake song.

“I looked up, and the busker walked over the cobblestone streets to serenade our table. I was so charmed by the moment, that I emptied my wallet into his hat! To this day, I’m not sure whether he recognised me or was just playing a Bollywood tune for the Indian family at the piazza!” shared Zeenat.

This is not the first time that she has enthralled the Instagram community with her unmissable post.

Previously, she wrote about how the “flawless faces” on the screen are made possible “by an army of technicians”. “Make up artists, hairdressers, lighting personnel, stylists, camerapersons, and increasingly Photoshop experts I hear! Remember that we’re performers, this is our job. Enjoy the aesthetics, and be inspired, but take it all with more than a pinch of salt. Life is too short for looking good to get in the way of having fun, right?” she wrote.
