VHP lists ‘attacks’ on Hindus, shrines

The VHP Tuesday released a list of over 300 incidents of alleged attacks on Hindus and their places of worship. It said these attacks took place between January 2023 and November 7, 2024, and claimed that the list was only one-tenth of this period’s attacks . It claimed a certain section of society had “graduated from love jihad to waging spit jihad and urine jihad”.

“The barbarity and cruelty of these attacks is inhuman, and their types are also beyond human imagination. The whole world is already troubled by terror jihad, love jihad, land jihad, population jihad; now their hatred towards non-Muslims is coming to the fore through spit jihad, urine jihad, train jihad, minor jihad etc,” VHP joint general secretary Surendra Jain said.

He said in their greed for power, some secular parties “have been inflaming and egging on these jihadis… and triggering them to take the country towards civil war”. Suggesting that jihadis “need to be taught a lesson”, Jain said, “It is mandatory for every citizen to respect the Constitution, law, judiciary and national civilisation, culture and traditions.”

Suggesting this had become a global affair, Jain said, “Whether it is the attacks of Hamas or Bangladeshi jihadis, whether it is the massacre of Hindus in Kashmir… the brutal dance of cruelty and lust is very much visible in all these… there is no Islamophobia anywhere in the world and…the jihadists are the ones who suffer from ‘Kafirphobia.”
