A woman teacher was allegedly molested by a village head on Friday following which teaching staff of all the 59 government primary schools of Siyana tehsil went on an indefinite strike.

Bulandshahr: A woman teacher was allegedly molested by a village head on Friday following which teaching staff of all the 59 government primary schools of Siyana tehsil went on an indefinite strike. The victim in her police complaint has accused gram pradhan Ravindra Singh alias Teetu of village Dhaniyawali of molesting her when she was on her way to the school in the morning,Circle Officer Vandana Mishra said. An FIR in the matter has been lodged and efforts are being made to nab the culprit,she added.

Parts of UP receive heavy showers

Lucknow: Moderate to rather heavy rain and thundershowers occurred at a few places on Friday in the state with the monsoon being weak in the past 24 hours,the Met office said. Rajghat recorded 7 cm rainfall,followed by Chayal and Mahroni 5 cm each; Chatta,Mirzapur and Kiroli 3 cm each; Ghosi,Varanasi,Dudhi,Chunar,Shikohabad and Agra 2 cm each.

Rakhi special train for Lucknow

New Delhi: To clear extra rush of passengers during Raksha Bandhan,Northern Railway has decided to run a special train from Lucknow to Delhi. The special train will depart from Lucknow at 9.15 pm on August 5. On its return journey,the train will depart from Old Delhi at 9.15 am on August 6. The train will stop at Bareilly,Moradabad and Ghaziabad stations.
