THE DELHI High Court on Monday extended interim bail to former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar convicted in the 2017 Unnao rape case, and in the custodial death of the rape survivor’s father, until January 20. The relief on Monday was granted by Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri in the second case registered by the CBI wherein he was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment on March 13, 2020. He was found guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the custodial death case. The court also relied on the extension in interim relief granted by a division bench earlier on Friday in the CBI case where he was convicted of raping the minor. His appeal challenging the trial court’s verdict in the main Unnao rape case is already pending in the high court.
