TBSE Higher Secondary exams begin across Tripura amid tight security

Tripura Board of Secondary Education president Dr Dhananjoy Gan Chowdhury said the examinations are being held across 60 centres with special arrangements for physically challenged candidates.

Higher secondary examinations under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) began with the English paper on Monday. The examination was held at 12 pm across the state amid tight security.

A total of 21,506 candidates have registered for the Class 12 state board examinations this year.

Speaking to reporters, TBSE president Dr Dhananjoy Gan Chowdhury said, “We have 60 centres and 90 venues for the examinations. We have also made arrangements for physically challenged candidates in every centre. We are getting good reports from everywhere. Everything is peaceful,”

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha shared a message for the students: “During Pariksha Pe Charcha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the students to write their exams in a relaxed mood. I wish them (students) all the best for their examinations”.

The following examinations will be held next: Bangla, Hindi, Kokborok and Mizo on February 27; Chemistry and Political Science on March 1; Business Studies, Education and Physics on March 3; Accountancy, Biology and History on March 5; Mathematics and Philosophy on March 7; Economics on March 10; Psychology on March 12; Geography on March 14; Sanskrit, Arabic and Statistics on March 17; Sociology on March 19; Computer Science and Music on March 21; and examinations for vocational subjects on March 22.
