Telangana Tunnel Collapse Rescue Live Updates: As the SLBC tunnel in Telangana partially collapsed on Saturday, Nagarkunool Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Gaikwad told The Indian Express that there was presently no communication with the eight workers who remain trapped in the debris. "We are awaiting a report from an NGRI team regarding the stability of the soil, and hopefully, the roboscope team will be able to grab some visuals tonight from the exact location," Gaikwad said, adding that experts from across the country had been reached out to for assistance. "Ventilation and lighting till the last 50 metres is adequate but the real challenge is the area beyond. We are not in a position to disturb the collapsed area," the SP said. Rescuers stare at crisis as water and mud mix make it harder to push forward Chances of survival remain bleak: Telangana Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that the chances of survival of the eight persons are "very remote", though every effort is being made to reach them, news agency PTI reported. According to the minister, rescuing the trapped individuals would take at least three to four days, as the site of the collapse is filled with muck and debris, making it a "daunting task for the rescuers", Rescue efforts so far: A massive rescue operation has been underway, which involves around 300 trained personnel, including 128 from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 120 from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), 23 from Singareni Collieries and 24 from the Army, to bring the trapped men out. While rescuers have reached over 13 km inside the tunnel, the water and slush in the next few hundred metres have prevented the rescuers from getting to the trapped men. A team of rat miners - who had been deployed for the Silkyara tunnel rescue in Uttarakhand - have been included in the rescue team to extricate the workers trapped under the collapsed portion of the tunnel.
