The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Thursday announced revised fees for both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. The new fee structure will come into effect from Friday. As per the announcement, the examination fee for Class 10 has been hiked to Rs 300 from the existing Rs 120, and for Class 12, the fee has been hiked from Rs 150 to Rs 400. While speaking to reporters in Agartala, TBSE president Dhananjoy Ganchowdhury said that the examination fees for CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations were Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,100, respectively. Further, the TBSE chief said, “Among the northeastern states, the fee structure of the Tripura board is very less.” He mentioned that the board examination fee in Mizoram is Rs 550, and the corresponding fee for Meghalaya and Assam is Rs 900. Earlier, the cumulative fee for practical examinations was Rs 75, which has now been revised to Rs 75 per subject. The fees for review of answer scripts and self-inspection have been raised from Rs 130 and Rs 250 to Rs 200 and Rs 500, respectively. Meanwhile, the registration fee for both Classes 10 and 12 has been hiked from Rs 110 to Rs 120. Asked about the tentative dates for board examinations next year, Ganchowhury said, “Though we cannot tell the exact dates, we are trying to hold Class 10 and 12 board examinations in the last week of February 2026.”
