Security has been tightened in Agartala ahead of the live musical concert of playback singer Shreya Ghoshal scheduled to be held at Swami Vivekananda Stadium on Saturday.
The concert, where around 40,000 people are expected to attend, marks the culmination of the Tripura government’s Tripura Tourism Promo Fest that began on December 3 to boost tourist footfall and to promote the state’s culture and heritage.
Adequate police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Central security forces would be deployed at the stadium, said officials.
“We had made a detailed arrangement for the musical concert of Shreya Ghoshal. We shall use drones to control the crowd. A good number of security forces will be posted at all the entrances. Our staff in plain clothes will also be deployed,” said West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar.
Apart from state police officials, 700 TSR personnel and 50 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) staff have been deployed.
Shreya Ghoshal is known for a series of hit numbers, including her latest rendition in Bhool Bhoolaiya 3, directed by Anees Bazmee.
Tripura has recently seen several celebrities visit to promote the state’s tourism, including former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly who is the brand ambassador for Tripura Tourism.
