Woman arrested for crossing over from PoK

A woman was apprehended by Army troops after she crossed over to this side of the border from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) through the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir,defence sources said on Tuesday.

Noor Jahan,wife of Abdul Majid,originally belongs to Kerni area of the Indian district and had illegally crossed over to PoK on May 30,they said,adding,police had registered a case under section 2/3 (illegal crossing of border) against her in May.

She was taken into custody by Army troops when she crossed to this side in Kerni sector of Poonch on late Monday night,the sources said.

They added,the woman would be handed over to police for further investigation after medical examination.
