They said that Tufail was taken into custody by police after more than a two-hour-long questioning and a case was registered against him at Poonch police station.

The PoK resident is being sent to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) after which it would be decided whether he is to be booked under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act or Enemy Agent Ordinance, they said.

Meanwhile,on getting information about Tufail’s arrest, two LeT militants, who had reached the bus stand at Poonch to take the satellite phone for a Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) commander, slipped away and a manhunt has been launched to track them down, they said.

Tufail later confessed before police that the satellite phone was to be collected by the militants in Poonch town after matching the code words “Peer Saheb Ne Bheja Hai”.
