Over 1,000 assistant professor posts referred to JKPSC

Jammu and Kashmir government has referred 1,200 posts of assistant professors to the state Public Service Commission for ensuring adequate teaching staff in newly-opened degree colleges.

Jammu and Kashmir government has referred 1,200 posts of assistant professors to the state Public Service Commission for ensuring adequate teaching staff in newly-opened degree colleges.

“The (1,200) vacancies of assistant professors have been referred to the Public Service Commission for selection process,” Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik said at an education conference here yesterday.

While asking principals of various degree colleges to start career counselling in their institutions,he stressed on the introduction of new courses which will help students to take on the challenges of a competitive world.

The youth should explore the employability potential in sectors like horticulture and tourism,he added.

The minister also said that 100 community colleges had been set up across the country for ensuring skill development of the youth while tackling the problem of unemployment.
