Kasmir shivers at sub-zero temperatures across the Valley

Cold wave tightened its grip over Kashmir,with minimum temperatures slipping by at least two degrees.

Cold wave tightened its grip over Kashmir on Monday as the minimum temperatures across the Valley slipped by at least two degrees while Ladakh region shivered at 12 degrees below the freezing point.

Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 8.6 degrees celsius while Pahalgam was the second coldest place in the Valley at minus 7.0 deg celsius,an official of the MET department said.

The minimum temperature recorded here was 1.4 degrees celsius,lower by 2.6 degree celsius than on Sunday.

Qazigund and Kupwara recorded a minimum of minus 0.6 degrees celsius and minus 1.4 degrees celsius each.

Ladakh region also saw the mercury dipping by few degrees last night as Leh recorded minus 12.8 degrees celsius and Kargil town registered minus 12.0 degrees celcius.
