Kargil coldest place in J-K

Leh town,also in Ladakh region,was reeling at minus 1.4°C: MeT officials.

Kargil in frontier Ladakh division was the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir today with the minimum temperature dipping to three degrees below freezing point in the area.

Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 1.8°C,making it the coldest place in the Valley,he said.

However,people in Srinagar and other parts of the Valley got some respite from the chill as the mercury raised by a few notches due to the cloud cover.

Srinagar recorded a low of 4.8°C,three degrees above normal,while Kupwara recorded minimum of 7.7°C and Pahalgam minimum of 4.4°C.
