From construction of super speciality hospitals and 200 bedded maternity hospitals to the construction of various flyovers and bridges,besides widening and upgradation of various roads across the state,the Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here today reviewed the physical and financial status of mega projects under implementation in the state,asking the authorities to send him their progress report every fortnight.
Asking the Chief Secretary Madhav Lal to monitor all mega projects on fortnightly basis,he said that his office should get the status of physical and financial progress of these projects on 1st and 15th of every month.
Omar also asked for formulating comprehensive Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the new projects being launched in various sectors across the state.
You should incorporate all aspects of the requirements in detailed project reports so that funds are allotted accordingly and execution goes on smoothly, he said at a five hour long high level marathon meeting which was attended among others by a number of his senior cabinet colleagues,chief secretary and senior bureaucrats.
The Chief Minister also stressed on dovetailing the facilities to take best advantage of the funds available under various schemes. The meeting will continue tomorrow to discuss progress in other sectors.
Giving details of the meeting,an official spokesman here said that the Chief Minister received project-wise appraisal of district hospital complexes,supper specialty hospitals,200-bedded additional ward block of Lal Ded Hospital,Srinagar,besides 200-bedded maternity hospitals at Jammu and in Srinagar. He also reviewed the status of construction of mini-secretariats in the newly established districts of Bandipora,Shopian,Kulgam,Ganderbal,Samba,Ramban,Reasi and Kishtwar,besides various projects in tourism,higher education,technical education,sports,revenue and R&B sectors. He also took stock of the status of work on the construction of 4-laning of National Highway from Lakhanpur to Srinagar.
It was revealed at the meeting that the OPD and IPD blocks of district hospital Kishtwar,OPD blocks of Reasi,Barmulla and Kulgam district hospitals have been completed,while work on Ganderbal,Kathua,Rajouri and Bhaderwah district hospitals is in progress. It was stated that work of the supper speciality hospital in Jammu was near completion and it will be fully completed by March 2012. The work on Institution of Traumatalogy,Srinagar was also in progress,while the bidding process for construction of one flyover each at Srinagar and in Jammu city would start next month.
The Chief Minister also reviewed progress of work on under construction degree colleges,polytechnic institutions,ITIs and playfields,widening of Boulevard Road in Srinagar,upgradation of 4-laning of Satwari-R.S.Pora road,convention centre at Jammu,new legislature complex at Jammu,construction of 4th bridge over river Tawi,improvement and upgradation of Bhaderwah-Chamba road,Mandi-Bafliaz road,Khanyar-Gojwara road,new bridge over River Jehlum near Qamarwari,improvement of Khanyar-Zadibal-Pandach road,Baghi Ali Mardan Khan-Hazratbal road,Kuria-Kishwan road in Kishtwar,Beehama-Safapora road,Ladoora Juhama bridge over River Jehlum at Rafiabad.
He also reviewed the progress on the establishment of two Central Universities at Jammu and in Ganderbal,besides the establishment of Government College for Engineering and Technology at Jammu. He also ascertained the status of the improvement and upgradation of the Abhinav Theatre and Tagore Hall in Jammu and Srinagar respectively.
