Nalanda JD (U) leader shot dead, six booked

Two people on a motorcycle fired five bullets at Munnavar Alam Raain.

A Nalanda JD(U) leader and party’s state general secretary with minority wing was shot dead over personal and business rivalry on Sunday at Laheri under Nalanda district. Of six people named for his murder, one was arrested.

Police said the incident took place on Sunday morning when JD (U) leader – also a fish businessman  – Munnavar Alam Raain, had been going to fish market from his Sohsarai residence. Two people on a motorcycle overtook his bike and fired five bullets at him. The JD(U) leader was referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital. He died on way to PMCH.

Laheri police station in-charge OP Singh said: “We have lodged case against six people and arrested one Sikander. Primary investigation suggests business rivalry”.
