Rajasthan Police said Tuesday that it has arrested 14 trainee sub-inspectors in connection with a 2021 paper leak case related to recruitment of sub inspectors. The arrested include topper Naresh Bishnoi, who hails from Sanchore.
Additional Director General (ATS & SOG) V K Singh told reporters, “16 SI probationers have been questioned by the Special Operations Group (SOG). Among them, the crime of 14 has been confirmed while investigation is on regarding the other two.”
The trainee SIs were undergoing training at the Rajasthan Police Academy, Jaipur, and at the Rajasthan Police Training Centre in Kishangarh, Ajmer. As per the list shared by the SOG, most of the accused are from Sanchore while others hail from Jodhpur, Barmer and Churu. “There were two others — Rajendra Yadav and Ashok Nathawat — who were selected as probationer sub inspectors but did not join. They are already in custody in other cases,” Singh said.
The police had lodged a fresh case in the 2021 paper leak case. CM Bhajan Lal Sharma had said Monday on X, “’Modi ji’s guarantee’ means guarantee that the guarantee will be fulfilled! Paper leaks are being controlled in the new Rajasthan of new India. SIT formed to prevent paper leak gets major success.”
Minister Kirodi Lal Meena, who met ADG Singh Tuesday, said he shared details of the scam in the past and alleged that 300-400 among those selected had managed to qualify through fraudulent means.
The SI examination, conducted by Rajasthan Public Service Commission, was held between September 13 and 15, 2021. A total 3.83 lakh had appeared for 859 vacancies. The RPSC recommended 3,079 of them.
