Haryana Health Minister conducts checks at Rohtak PGIMS, says conditions not up to mark

He interacted with the patients and heard their grievances.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij found several anomalies as he conducted checks at PGIMS Rohtak. Vij said that during checks it was found that the patients were forced to buy a number of medicines as well as get tests done from outside. A report was sought from the PGI administration on this. He also questioned doctors on a patient not getting AB+ blood. A record of the medicines was not available.

Vij further observed that in the ICU of the trauma centre, all the nine beds were occupied. However, the attendants were not wearing masks or caps. Vij ordered sealing of a chemist shop after a slip of the shop was found in the ICU without the name of the patient or the names of medicines.

He said that the patients coming to the hospital were being harassed. He expressed concern at the lack of proper care being given to a patient suffering from HIV. He said it seems that the conditions at the institute have deteriorated. He said that he would recommend action against the concerned staff and doctors to the Haryana Governor.
