In his last monthly address, Modi had said that through these laws, demands of farmers had been met, which at one point of time or the other had been promised by every political party. He asked the youth, “specially those studying in agriculture” to go to nearby villages, and create awareness about the recently passed laws among the farmers. The Prime Minister said that Kashmiri saffron was given the Geographical Indication (GI) tag in May this year, adding that through this we want to make it a globally popular brand.
Meanwhile, farmers protesting against the Centre's new farm laws at the Singhu border banged utensils. To mark their protest, farm leaders had urged people to beat utensils during PM's 'Mann Ki Baat' radio programme, the same way the prime minister had asked people in March to beat 'thalis' (steel plates). When the prime minister will speak, 'we appeal to the people of the entire country to bang utensils in your houses throughout the duration of his programme to drown out his Mann Ki Baat', Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Jagjeet Singh Dalewala had said.
PM Modi Sunday said that people reverently remember the supreme sacrifice of the family of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. "This martyrdom gave a new lesson to the entire humanity & the entire country. This martyrdom did a great work of protecting our civilization. We are indebted to this martyrdom," he added.
During his 'Mann Ki Baat' monthly radio programme, PM Modi said no challenge is too big for India's youth and nothing is beyond their reach.
PM Modi said people have supported 'Vocal for Local' and urged manufacturers and industry leaders to make wolrd class products.
The Prime Minister appealed to people to find out Indian alternatives of imported items of daily use and asked them to resolve to use products produced by Indians.
During his 'Mann Ki Baat' address, PM Modi said customers are demanding 'Made In India' toys. "This is a big change in the thought process. This is a living example of a major transformation in people's attitude and that too within a period of one year. It's not easy to gauge this transformation," he added.
PM Modi said Janata Curfew became an inspiration for the whole world and many people showed their solidarity by showing respect to our corona warriors.
The Prime Minister said supply chains got disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic all across the world, but we learnt new lessons from each crisis. 'The nation also developed new capabilities. We can call this capability 'Aatmanirbharata' or self-reliance,' he added.
