The Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi has temporarily suspended all VIP darshan and sparsh darshan facilities. This decision has been taken by the temple administration due to heavy crowds ahead of the New Year and other high-footfall periods. Only regular darshan and entry is available for devotees until further notice.

CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said, “On December 24, 2025, the temple trust decided that it would no not be possible to provide any special facilities, implement any protocol, or grant any special access for darshan.”

The ban includes VIP darshan that is priority entry, shorter queues and waiting duration for pre-booked tickets and sparsh darshan, that includes touching the shivalinga.
