Maoist killed in encounter, jawan injured in IED blast
An encounter took place between Maoists and security forces in a forest area between Purangel village (Kirandul police station) and Peediya village (Gangalur police station), which is a border area, around 8 am.

A Maoist was killed in an encounter with security personnel, and a Bastar Fighters jawan suffered serious injuries in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Monday.
In another incident, a villager, who was abducted on March 8, was found dead on Monday.
An encounter took place between Maoists and security forces in a forest area between Purangel village (Kirandul police station) and Peediya village (Gangalur police station), which is a border area, around 8 am.
During search operations, an unidentified body of a Maoist was found. While conducting search operations around 2.30 pm near Mutavendi camp pass, constable Ramu Korsa of Bastar Fighters accidentally stepped on a pressure IED connection, triggering a blast. He sustained injuries on his legs and is said to be in a stable condition now.
In the other incident, the body of 35-year-old Hemla Pusu was found. Terming Pusu a police informer, Bhairamgarh area committee Maoists allegedly strangled and thrashed him to death with wooden sticks. Pusu was a resident of Telipetha village under Kutru police station, but used to live in another area in Kutru.
