Manoj Bajpayee fake video: The actor urged netizens not to share distorted content on social media. (File Photo)Manoj Bajpayee Amazon Prime ad: After a video showed Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee allegedly endorsing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, the artist issued a clarification, calling the clip a “fake, patched up edit of an ad” for OTT platform Amazon Prime Video India.
Bajpayee urged netizens not to share the “distorted content” on social media.
“I would like to publicly state that I have no association or allegiance with any political party. The video being circulated is a fake, patched-up edit of an ad I did for @PrimeVideoIN. I sincerely appeal to everyone sharing it to stop spreading such distorted content and urge people not to engage with or encourage such misleading content,” Bajpayee wrote on X.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) targeted the RJD over the video, also taking a shot at Congress.
BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari wrote on X: “Shame on RJD ecosystem for circulating fake video of Actor Manoj Bajpayee for its campaign in Bihar! ‘Rashtriya Jhoota Dal’ knows it is losing Bihar, this is why it is using fake, edited videos in its campaign! Fake News, & Corruption, JungleRaj unites Congress and RJD!”
RJD’s Mahagathbandhan ally Congress, meanwhile, criticised the actor for making his statement public, urging him to file an FIR instead.
“An artist like Manoj Bajpayee should not make such remarks. If the video is suspicious, he should file an FIR. When it comes to pubic life, artist like him should not make such statements publicly and enter disputes. If he wants to enter politics, he is welcome to do so openly. But if not, it would be better for him to address his concerns through legal means,” Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput told IANS.
