“The instant case has been registered on the basis of reliable source information against Lt. Col. Deepak Kumar Sharma, Deputy Planning Officer, International Cooperation and Exports, Department of Defence Productions, Ministry of Defence, his wife, Col. Kajal Bali, currently working as CO, 16 Infantry DOU, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan and others, including a Dubai based company on charges of criminal conspiracy and bribery etc, a CBI spokesperson said.
The CBI has arrested two men, including a Lieutenant Colonel rank officer Saturday in an alleged bribery case involving defence procurement favours.
“The instant case has been registered on the basis of reliable source information against Lt. Col. Deepak Kumar Sharma, Deputy Planning Officer, International Cooperation and Exports, Department of Defence Productions, Ministry of Defence, his wife, Col. Kajal Bali, currently working as CO, 16 Infantry DOU, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan and others, including a Dubai based company on charges of criminal conspiracy and bribery etc, a CBI spokesperson said.
It added, “Lt Col Sharma, is accused of engaging in corrupt activities in collusion with representatives of private companies dealing in defence manufacturing and exports. Another accused has been identified as Vinod Kumar.”
