‘26/11 got media hype as it happened in 5-star hotels’

A senior BJP leader said on Thursday that the Mumbai terror strikes received too much media attention as it happened in five star hotels while similar attacks went unnoticed in other parts of the country,evoking a sharp reaction from Congress.

“Attacks are happening in Kashmir,Orissa,Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh but you highlight it (Mumbai attacks) too much because 26/11 happened in Hotel Taj Mahal,” BJP leader S S Ahluwalia told reporters outside Parliament.

Ahluwalia also said he was pained that no TV channel mentioned that the Constitution was also adopted on the same day in 1949.

Reacting sharply to Ahluwalia’s remarks,Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said,”It’s a sad commentary on the part of the opposition.”

He also criticised the BJP leader saying,”It is wrong. He is doing politics (into the Mumbai incident)”.
