Two Assistant Commissioners of Police and an inspector were suspended in connection with the vandalism at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 14 night for alleged negligence as they were on duty at hospital, said officials. Meanwhile, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Kolkata Police, who is believed to be a close associate of the accused arrested in the alleged rape and murder incident at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, appeared before the CBI Tuesday for questioning in connection with the case. Anoop Dutt, the ASI, was questioned about his relationship with accused Sanjay Roy and any knowledge he may have of the night of the incident. Roy was also interrogated about any interactions he had with the victim among other things. The agency also plans to question Roy’s relatives in the next few days, it is learnt. Dr Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, appeared before the CBI for fifth day in a row Tuesday, facing questions about inconsistencies in his statements.
