(Representational/ File) The Jammu and Kashmir Police as well as the Army Sunday said that an infiltration bid along the Line of Control was foiled after a suspected militant was killed in the Tangdhar area of North Kashmir.
Movement of terrorists was observed during the search operation conducted following an input about possible infiltration attempts, and “they were challenged by the joint party in which one terrorist was neutralised,” Police said in a statement.
“Two to three other terrorists accompanying the killed terrorist escaped back to the Pakistan side of LoC” taking advantage of the rugged terrain, police said.
Meanwhile, from the incriminating materials recovered from the site of encounter, police have identified the deceased militant as a Pakistani national.
The teams recovered arms and ammunition from the site of the encounter. “The recovery of these materials underscores the nefarious intentions of the infiltrators and their attempts to disrupt peace and stability in the region,” police said.
