On Saturday, India will host the 3rd Voice of Global South Summit in a virtual format. This edition, themed on “An Empowered Global South for a Sustainable Future”, will expand discussions held in the previous summits on challenges that affect the world, such as conflicts, food and energy security crises, climate change — all of which disproportionately affect developing countries in a severe manner, the MEA said.

The inaugural session would be hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, followed by 10 Ministerial Sessions, including a Foreign Ministers’ Session on “Charting a Unique Paradigm for Global South”.

Last week, the foreign minister visited Maldives, with an aim to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
