Speaking to Indianexpress.com, a senior railway official has said that carrying alcohol or liquor on trains is strictly prohibited. “No, carrying liquor or alcohol bottles are not allowed in trains,” the official said.

The consumption and carriage of alcohol on trains not only poses a safety risk to the passengers but also leads to unruly behavior and discomfort for other travelling passengers, the railways had said.
