Two missing cousins found dead in Muzaffarnagar

The girl’s body was highly decomposed and acid had been poured on her face in an apparent bid to conceal her identity.

An 18-year-old girl missing for the last three days and her cousin brother who was missing since June 1 were found dead under Budhana police station area in Muzaffarnagar district Saturday.

While the boy’s body was recovered from a well, the girl’s body was found in a sugarcane field about 300 metres away.

The girl’s body was highly decomposed and acid had been poured on her face in an apparent bid to conceal her identity. The police said the girl was murdered, but did not comment on whether her cousin was also killed. Autopsy reports into both deaths are awaited.

As per the police, the girl’s father accused three local youths of kidnapping and killing his daughter. The boy’s family is yet to file a complaint. Station Officer, Budhana police station, Dhananjay Mishra said the girl’s father identified the three accused as Arvind, Pramod and Monu. Arvind has been arrested, while the others are absconding.
