The Haryana Police achieved a major breakthrough in the investigation of the murder of two youth,in Rohtak,on April 16. Five accused had been identified by the police of which two were arrested Friday. The accused allegedly stabbed Monu and Sumit to death for possessing an illegal and unauthorised revolver,belonging to Monu.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ravi and Ajay. Rohtak police had registered a murder case against unidentified persons on the complaint of Monus father,Ramesh.
In their preliminary interrogation,both Ravi and Ajay disclosed that Monu possessed a revolver,which he gave to Ravis brother a few days ago. Monu had demanded the revolver back to which Ravi and his brother had resisted. When Monu threatened of dire consequences if the revolver was not returned,Ravi and his friends hatched a conspiracy to kill Monu.
On April 16,Ravi called Monu to Jind bypass,who was accompanied by his friend Sumit. Ravi, Ajay and three other were waiting for the duo and entered into a heated arguments following which Monu and Sumit were stabbed to death.
