Sanjay Dutt will campaign in Guj

Yadav said Sanjay Dutt’s visit to Gujarat will benefit the party in expanding its base in the state.

Two other actors Jaya Bachchan and Jayaprada will also campaign in Gujarat,he added.

On those contesting the forthcoming polls,he said names of the candidates to be fielded from Bharuch,Kheda,Anand,Mehsana,Navsari,Ahmedabad (east) and Rajkot and one seat from union territory of Daman would soon be finalised.

The names of the candidates have been forwarded to the party’s parliamentary board which is meeting in Delhi tonight for a final decision,Yadav said.

Gujarat goes to poll on April 30.

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt,denied permission to contest elections by the Supreme Court,was on Thursday appointed as the national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party.

The actor,who was the SP candidate for the prestigious Lucknow Lok Sabha seat,was denied permission to contest polls by the Supreme Court which refused to stay his conviction in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
