SAD-BJP pockets Doaba region

Though counting of votes for rural polls continued in Doaba region,but trends indicated that SAD-BJP was headed for a clear victory. In Jalandhar,out of 192 BS seats,results were declared for 58 seats — 42 went to SAD,11 to Congress. In ZP’s 21 zones,11 went to SAD and five to Congress. In Nawanshahr,results of 47 out of 88 BS seats were declared — SAD won 23,Congress 16 and others eight. In the 10 ZP seats,out of the four where results were declared,three went to SAD and one to Congress. In Kapurthala,six out of 10 BS seats have been declared — three won by SAD. In Hoshiarpur,50 out of the total 204 BS seats have been declared — Congress won at least 25 seats.
