Protests against power cuts and water shortage in the national capital saw people pelting stones at buses in a south Delhi locality.

Protests against power cuts and water shortage in the national capital on Wednesday saw people pelting stones at buses in a south Delhi locality while traffic was disrupted in some parts of east Delhi.

People protesting against power cuts in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar turned violent this morning and started pelting stones.

At least four buses,including that of DTC,were damaged in the incident.

A senior police official said they were monitoring the situation and adequate forces were deployed to maintain law and order in the locality.

The national capital has been witnessing long power cuts for the past few days after the mercury soared to around 44 degree Celsius.

In Kondli and Rajbir Nagar,people took to the streets to protest against water shortage.

The protestors blocked traffic for some time.

South Delhi’s Mehrauli witnessed protest against the demolition drive by Delhi Development Authority.
