Now,151 services to come under RTS Act

“All schools under Punjab School Education Board,all colleges under Punjab Technical University,Guru Nanak Dev University at Amritsar,Punjabi University at Patiala and all private universities in the state will have to give these services to their students,” said an officer.

Another RTS service will be that all hospitals and dispensaries will have to put up lists of free medicines that are available in their clinics for the benefit of the patients.

Online police complaint service is also being brought under RTS,wherein any complaint has to be attended to by an SHO within 15 days with a full action taken report.

The services of Food Supplies department like duplicate ration card and change in name of ration card are now also under RTS in addition to and 10 services of Punjab Mandi Board.

Health department services like copy of medico-legal report and copy of discharge certificate will now come under RTS in addition to 13 other services.

Interestingly,the three services of Governance Reforms department: issuing of income certificate,succession certificate and dependent certificate will also come under RTS. Sources said that it has also been recommended that all these 151 services should be started in the 1,662 rural service centres as at present they are only in Suvidha Centres.
