Manhunt launched for shepherd booked for rape in Jammu

A manhunt has been launched to nab a shepherd booked for raping a 19-year-old girl in Koyli forest,45 kilometres from Jammu,police said on Friday.

According to police,the girl was grazing her cattle in Koyli forest belt in Jammu district,when a shepherd Fayaz Ali forcibly took her inside the forest and raped her on Thursday evening.

Based on the girl’s disclosure,her parents and villagers filed a complaint with the police,who booked Ali for rape and sent the girl for medical examination. Ali has been absconding after the incident.
