Last to be dropped,6-year-old girl molested by bus driver,conductor

Ghaziabad police said the girl was usually the last one to be dropped on the way back from school. “The men had been abusing her repeatedly over the last 15 days and threatened her against disclosing it to anyone. On September 5,the girl’s parents noticed swelling on her body parts. She was taken to a doctor who suggested that they talk to the girl as something was clearly amiss,” a police officer said.

“ On being questioned by her parents,the girl broke down and told them that the two men on the bus had been repeatedly molesting her. It was after this that the family approached police,and an FIR was registered,” the officer said.

Police said investigations were underway and they were questioning the two men.

Cases under IPC sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 506 (criminal intimidation) have been registered against the men. They were produced in a Ghaziabad court on Friday afternoon and remanded in judicial custody.

An official of the DPS Ghaziabad Society said,“We do not know how something like this could have happened. There was a dedicated teacher on the bus for the safety of students,and the instructions were never to leave the children alone. The moment the incident came to light,we began cooperating with police. An internal investigation is underway as well. The driver and the contractor have been removed from their posts.”
