Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected a bail application filed by Pune stud-farm owner Hasan Ali. The High Courts order came more than four months after a special court declined to grant him bail.
In his application,Ali claimed that certain documents, including a fax communication and other documentary evidence, had not been placed before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court, which had rejected his bail plea in October last year. However, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate (ED),Advocate General Darius Khambata and public prosecutor Revati Mohite-Dere told the court that the documents had been presented to the court in a sealed envelope. The ED also contended that there is a possibility of Ali absconding if he is granted bail.
