Govt not doing enough to match China’s might: BJP

Vijay claimed that the budget expenditure of the Chinese army was 10 times more than the Indian forces,but the government was doing nothing substantial to match up to the Chinese challenge. Vijay claimed that the government was hiding information about frequent Chinese intrusions in the border areas,and that last year alone there were 147 border intrusions in Ladakh. He claimed that the government was not doing anything to develop the border regions even as China was building roads right up to India’s borders.

“The country’s border areas are emptying as the government is doing nothing to improve living condition in these areas. Many of the residents from border areas are moving to cities for a better life,” Vijay said. He claimed that the government’s preparedness was highlighted by the fact that on Ladakh’s Pangong lake,most of which falls in China,India had only two patrol boats compared to 22 Chinese patrol boats.
