Ex-DGP in BJP

Former UP DGP Brijlal, who was considered close to BSP chief Mayawati and served on prime postings including the top post in police during the previous regime, Wednesday joined BJP in presence of party state in-charge Om Mathur and senior party officials.

Another retired IPS officer, Gyan Singh, who retired as DIG (Homeguards) in 2013, and former MLA Rajendra Prasad Singh Patel too joined the BJP at the same event where party’s state president Laxmikant Bajpai too was present. “Brijlal is joining the BJP and will start his political innings. During his tenure as IPS, he never compromised with criminal elements and dealt with them with iron hands. He wanted to work under leadership of Narendra Modi,” Bajpai told reporters.
