E-governance a priority for J-K govt: State IT minister

Ruhullah said the private participation is necessary to create and augment basic IT infrastructure.

Asserting that e-governance is a priority for the Jammu and Kashmir government,State Information and Science Technology Minister Syed Ruhullah has said private participation is necessary to create and augment basic IT infrastructure in the state.

Ruhullah said e-governance is a priority of the government and several initiatives have been taken to create basic infrastructure at the district,as well as block level.

The minister said 1,100 Common Service Centres (CSC) are to be set up across the state,out of which about 500 have been established and made functional so far.

The minister was addressing a seminar on ‘Cloud Computing Technology’,organised by University of Kashmir on Thursday.

Ruhullah said the private participation is necessary to create and augment basic IT infrastructure in the state.
