DMK members were evicted and one of them suspended Friday from the Tamil Nadu Assembly following fracas over mentioning of the internal fight between its president M Karunanidhi’s sons Alagiri and Stalin, during the discussion on Governor’s address. As the session began, the House erupted into protests when the opposition party fell for a taunt from an AIADMK member who dragged in the family feud in the Karunanidhi household. The MLA, G V Markandeyan, said if Karunanidhi had approached the state police instead of airing his complaints to the media (on his meeting with sulking elder son), Alagiri would have been in prison. The DMK MLAs rose in protest, demanding the comment be expunged. DMK member S S Sivasankar tore up a copy of the Governor’s address, which led to his suspension for the rest of the session of the House.
