IPS officer Santosh Rastogi, who has been part of the CBI team probing the 2G spectrum allocation scam case, has received a one-year extension in his deputation tenure with the investigation agency.

The CBI had requested for an extension of DIG Rastogi’s tenure with the agency as he was probing the 2G case. According to an order issued on Friday, approval of the competent authority was conveyed to the extension in the deputation tenure of Rastogi for the period from May 3, 2015, to May 2, 2016.

Rastogi’s transfer was, however, cancelled in compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court on officers probing the 2G case.
