Capt too flexes his muscles

On stage,seated next to Jakhar,Amarinder was invited before Bajwa and Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal who had walked in late to address the crowd. He congratulated Bajwa on his appointment and said,“I have served the Congress for nearly 16 years now. Our fight is with the party of goons and I am with you (Bajwa) in this fight. We have to prepare for the parliamentary polls by going to every village and ward. We have to unite among ourselves,” Amarinder said.

While union ministers Preneet Kaur and Manish Tewari,former union minister Ambika Soni,general secretary incharge for Punjab,Gulchain Singh Charak and Jakhar all first hailed the leadership of Amarinder before welcoming Bajwa’s appointment,union ministers Pawan Kumar Bansal and Ashwani Kumar gave his name a miss. Former PPCC president Shamsher Singh Dullo took a dig at Amarinder saying Bajwa’s appointment would end the five-star and seven-star culture in Punjab Congress.

Bajwa,during his speech,took potshots at mediapersons who asked him about MLAs and PPCC office-bearers giving his lunch invites a miss.

“Today,all your questions have been answered. We are united against our common political enemy. There is no time to waste. We have the first meeting of the PPCC today to chalk out our plans and I will start my tour of all districts from March 29 from Gurdaspur and Pathankot. After that Union minister Preneet Kaur has invited me to Patiala. Within two months we will tour the entire state,” Bajwa added.

Preneet,Amarinder’s wife,in her address said the party will once again touch new heights under the leadership of Bajwa.
