Naxal killed in Gadchiroli

NAGPUR:A naxalite was killed in an encounter near Hetalkasa village in Malewada area of Kurkheda tehsil in north Gadchiroli Sunday night. Based on intelligence about a Naxal gathering,a police party was sent. Around 5.30 pm,a group of about 50-60 Naxals opened fire,forcing police to retaliate. As police increased pressure,the Naxals fled. A spot search revealed a body, Gadchiroli police said.

NCP senior citizen meet on June 2

MUMBAI:NCP has convened a senior citizen meeting in Mumbai on June 2. A party general secretary said,The meeting will be chaired by president Sharad Pawar. Various issues,including a senior citizen policy the Democratic Front government intends to evolve,will be discussed.
